How to Apply

In order to apply for financial aid, students are required to submit the following application materials to the Kettering College Student Aid Office each year:

  1. Kettering College Financial Aid Application
  2. Free Application for Federal Student Aid

You should file the FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. FAFSA on the Web is available beginning January 1 each year. The paper FAFSA is still available and can be completed and mailed after January 1 each year by students not able to complete the FAFSA online, however the processing time for the paper FAFSA is usually much longer than the FAFSA on the Web (usually four-to-six weeks longer).

Be sure to indicate Kettering College of Medical Arts (still the official name on the FAFSA), school code #007035, in step 6 on the FAFSA.

Please make sure you read the instructions before completing your FAFSA. If, after reading the instructions that accompany the FAFSA, you need help completing the form, there are several places you can contact to receive assistance. You can call 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243), consult your high school guidance counselor, or contact the Student Finance Office at Kettering College.

Priority Deadline

The Financial Aid Office at Kettering College must have the results of your FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA by March 31 for you to be considered for the most aid possible. Financial aid programs available to eligible students meeting the priority deadline include Federal Perkins Loan, National Nursing Loan, and Federal Work-Study. If you do not file your FAFSA in time for us to get the results by the March 31 priority deadline, please do so as soon as you can. Most types of financial aid are still available to those students not meeting the priority deadline.

For more information regarding when to complete forms and to get a better picture of the overall process, please review our Financial Aid Timeline and Checklist.
